Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Tipping Club ("we," "us," or "our") operates www.tippingclub.org and the Tipping Club membership service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our service, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password.

Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. We receive limited billing details (such as the last four digits, card brand, expiration, and country) for receipt and dispute purposes.

Membership activity. We record the tips your membership generates, including the partner business, amount, and timestamp, so we can show your impact and pay vendors correctly.

Communications. If you email us or fill out a form, we keep that correspondence to respond and provide support.

Technical data. Our servers automatically log IP addresses, browser type, device info, and pages visited, primarily for security, fraud prevention, and product improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Tipping Club service.
  • Process subscription payments and distribute tips to partner vendors.
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, account changes, security alerts).
  • Respond to support requests and other inquiries.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to target third-party advertising.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only with parties that help us operate the service:

  • Stripe — to process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Resend — to send transactional emails on our behalf.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run the website, database, and APIs.
  • Partner vendors — limited aggregated information needed to record and pay out the tips your membership generates at their business.
  • Legal authorities — when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Successor entity — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may transfer to the successor, subject to this policy.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the service may not work properly without them.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account and tip history for as long as your membership is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time (see "Your Rights" below). Some records, such as payment receipts, may need to be retained for regulatory reasons.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and restricted access to production systems — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe and notify you promptly if a breach affects you.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tippingclub.org. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Tipping Club is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

Our servers are located in the United States. By using the service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have data protection laws different from those of your country.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, if changes are significant, notify you by email or via an in-app notice before they take effect.
